6.1.4.1. DNAOS REMMS Web-Based Service Technology

DNAOS technology is a key infrastructure component for the Cosmos Square knowledge sharing virtual environment, providing and supporting many important features.

The basic concept is that DNAOS technology adequately supports modeling, managing, and sharing knowledge, along with other things, by providing an appropriate knowledge architecture framework and supporting generalized knowledge resources, archetypes, and principles, including entitlement.

This brief introduction summary of DNAOS technology advantages for the Cosmos Square project will focus on each of these three knowledge resource functions: modeling, managing, and sharing, by emphasizing three somewhat respectively corresponding DNAOS concepts: integrated modeling and semantics, archetype management, and entitlement-based sharing.

Of course, each of these three DNAOS concept is not specific to only one function, as they are deeply related in the technology, rather it is that each of the three basic functions is especially enabled by the presence of one of the concepts.

As detailed elsewhere in this document, the Cosmos Square knowledge sharing virtual environment implementation phase development stage has three main internal objectives:

  • Integrate OpenSim and SecondLife type virtual world platform with DNAOS knowledge resource entitlement, modeling, management, and sharing (REMMS) technology
  • Implement the Cosmos Square core model and basic knowledge resource models
  • Enable Cosmos Square operation, guidance, hosting, registration, and support services
