6.4.1.6. Mr Jean-Claude Belanger In addition to having a Bachelor es art (Matane, 1967), a diploma in integrated arts from the Montreal l'École des Beaux Arts (Montreal Fine Arts School, 1970), as well as a Bachelor in Environment Design from UQAM (Quebec University in Montreal, 1973, Mr Jean-Claude Belanger is a musician, arranger, composer, a prosody and melody specialist, a librarian, archivist and documentation specialist, as well as a teacher. As director of Consonance Publishing (Les Editions Consonance) since the early 90s, he has coordinated the development and publishing of rich musical and educational collections, many of which are today part of the standard curriculum of most educational institutions in Quebec, as well as many in France. Contributor to many recordings and productions, Mr Jean-Claude Belanger has also assembled and organized the most important collection of audio and written Quebec folk and popular documents. Mr Jean-Claude Belanger is a Member of the Board for the Society for the Promotion of Quebec Traditional Dance (SPDTQ Société de promotion de la danse traditionnelle au Québec). Long time computer user for his work, Mr Jean-Claude Belanger is also responsible for content-based Web sites, including EditionsConsonance.com which includes some of his works and collections, Accordion101.com (accordeon101.com) which offers the most complete site on the history and structure of the accordeon family of musical instruments, including some of his own designs which have already pushed the capabilities of these instruments, and mnSingALot.com (GrosBonChant.com) which offer a new pedagogical approach to musical training, and which is used in Quebec primary schools, as well as currently being exported to South-East Asia. Especially through his long term collaboration with Mr Michel Perrault, Mr Jean-Claude Belanger has been involved with the Cosmos Square project from its early development. His interests in integrated arts, his documentation and knowledge archive organization experience, as well as his keen awareness of knowledge sharing, pedagogy, and user interface design issues make a key asset for the Cosmos Square project. Inside Cosmos Square, through his avatars, Mr Jean-Claude Belanger is mostly responsible for hostin and guiding users through the Temple of Music. See Also
